Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Well if you love Christmas like I do its never too early to start feeling it..... As far as Im concerned, come the 1st of December its time to decorate. My husband rolls his eyes but the kids and I love it. I have a huge collection of Christmas decorations that I have been collecting over the years and which I try to add to every year. Just 1 special piece that catches my eye....usually at the sales after Christmas. The other tradition I love is making something gorgeous to decorate with as well. It doesn't need to be difficult or complex... just simple, colourful and heartfelt!
This year Im making paper wreaths. We have a bright orange front door and I wanted it to pop against it!
All you need to make a paper leaf wreath is some beautiful patterned paper, I got mine from Kikki K. Some scissors, glue and some cardboard to cut your rings out of.
Cut out your leaf shapes, you don't need to be too careful, they can all be different.....just keep them all a similar size.
Now cut a ring out of your cardboard and start glueing. There is no right or wrong way to do this, just go for it. And if you really want to get into the spirit, why not whack on some Christmas carols. The cheesier the better, I say!
Now its time to hang (read: blue tack) your wreath. They look great when grouped together as well, if you went ahead and made a few.
I have hung one of mine on our front door right next to my Washi tape HELLO! It looks gorgeous and has received quite a few comments already.
I hope you enjoy making your Christmas Wreaths this year.... Make sure you photograph the finished product and upload it to Instagram with the #taylorandclothdiy and give me a shout out @katetaylorandcloth.
